Personal Statement
My name is Mia Flores and I am currently finishing up my freshman year at College of Southern Nevada. Being a part of the 2019 championship team for my high school has been a major driving factor in my student athlete career so far. Unfortunately due to the pandemic we did not get to defend that championship in 2020. I feel like the pandemic made me grow more as an athlete because it pushed me to work harder on my own both physically and mentally. I started playing softball at age 9 and fell in love with the sport right away. Both my parents were college athletes and they have always supported me. My parents taught me that with hard work and dedication I could accomplish anything I put my mind to. Softball has taught me many valuable skills including team work, leadership, sacrifice, time management and commitment.
I am looking for a school that is going to challenge me academically and also on the softball field. I am interested in majoring in business, but I also love art and music, so finding a school that has many options is important to me. I hold a consistently high gpa and take my academics very seriously.
Softball is my outlet, my escape from reality. Softball is life, and I will work hard and do whatever it takes to achieve my goals.
