Personal Statement
My goal is to attend a college and compete in softball at the next level. I am a strong candidate because I am a strong student, a good citizen, and a good athlete. I maintain a high grade point average and put a strong emphasis on academics. I volunteer at my church and I try to be a good person and treat others the way I would like to be treated. Softball is a real passion of mine. It has helped me in many aspects of my life. Learning to stay calm under pressure while on the mound, teaches me to stay calm and focused in other areas of my life. I know that hard work pays off. I love to compete in anything I do. I know that if something is not working right I need to work harder at it. If it means staying late at practice then I will. I had the opportunity to be on a volleyball team that won sectionals this past fall. In order to gain and maintain a starting position on this team I had to put the extra practice time in that was needed. It was very rewarding to be a part of this success for the school.
I am not afraid of challenges. My ability to persevere and not give up was instilled in me at a young age. My parents always made me finish everything I started, and made sure that I always gave it my best effort. It was the effort that they cared more about rather than the end result. Hard work will eventually turn out the results your are seeking. I look forward to my high school and travel seasons of softball that lie ahead. I have enjoyed winning many tournaments with my teams and am excited for what is yet to come. It is my ultimate goal to be a student athlete and play at the collegiate level where I fit in as a student, person and athlete.
