Personal Statement
My personal philosophy has always been to excel, to the best of your ability, at every task you undertake. Regardless of the situation at hand, I feel that it is important to approach it with the intent of thriving. It is only when a person is in this mindset that they can truly become successful. I like to think that I live by this philosophy. Whether I am in school or on the field, I pride myself on my work ethic and desire to succeed. I am currently a sophomore at Scarsdale High School. I maintain a 3.9 grade point average and participate in multiple extracurricular activities. I am a member of two clubs; Free the Children and Philosophy Club. Free the Children is a non-profit organization that focuses primarily on raising money to help local kids who are currently living in poverty. Philosophy club offers an opportunity for students of all different grades to meet and discuss/debate different philosophical topics and ideas. Additionally, last year I made my school’s varsity softball team as a freshman. I was the starting pitcher for my team and batted fourth in our team’s lineup. I finished the season strongly, winning “All-League.” Additionally, I play year round for the Empire State Huskies 2020 18U Showcase softball team, a New York based club organization. We have won a national championship, and have placed highly in multiple high level tournaments. I am also the starting pitcher on my club team, and bat third in the lineup. I absolutely love the sport of softball, and it has been a huge part of my life thus far. It has made a huge impact on who I am today, and I truly hope that I will have the opportunity to continue my softball career at the collegiate level.
