Personal Statement
I love the smell of the fresh chalk lines and fresh cut grass before a game; I love the loud cheers me and my teammates chant throughout the game; I love the sound the softball makes when it hits my glove or bat; I love to watch the crowd cheer when we get someone out or we make a great hit; I love softball for many reasons especially the people. My freshman year I played JV but my varsity coach pulled me up to play in the semi-finals in our sectionals. I was told the day before I'd be playing throughout the whole game. As a team, we worked hard and continued to fight. Unfortunately, we lost 16-17, but I developed a deeper love for softball during that game. Softball has given me a lot of memories of joy, anger, fear, excitement etc. Softball has given me the ability to be the player I am today and I want to continue to play softball during my college years.
I was fortunate enough to have amazing coaches who pushed me at every practice and game. They helped me continue to find my love for softball by teaching me patience, determination, leadership, teamwork, and willingness. I want to be a part of a program that sees my talents but also helps me grow as a softball player and a person. Chemistry within the team is most important to me on and off the team. Your team will become my team and my family. I want to continue to thrive as a student-athlete at your school which I want to turn into my school and my home away from home. Softball isn't who I am, but it is who I continue to grow with.
