Personal Statement
By participating in not only softball but marching band I have learned more life lessons than the average player. On the football field you march as one band in one sound to make something beautiful. Doing this takes the ability to work well with everyone around you because there is not one point where all of the attention is focused on you, it is always the band as a whole. I strive to make the connections with everyone around me to put out the most cohesive sound and drill.
Having a background in the arts and sports gives me a different perspective on the time and effort it takes to completely master a skill. Marching band has made me strive to work harder and be more willing to improve even the strongest parts of my game. In the arts everything has to sound amazing to look amazing, in softball you just have to give it all you have every day.
