Personal Statement

I would say lots of people would describe me as an independent worker. I know that is not always the best thing but if I need help I'm not scared to ask. I prefer to do my tee-work and things like that alone to cut out distractions and to surprise everyone how much better I've gotten. I can also be a very good team player and teacher. I have noticed recently lots of people on my school ball team are losing their love for the game like I did basically all last year and I have been trying my best to make it fun for them again because I know what it all feels like. I have also been told I am a very good teacher and I think it's because whenever I try to help someone I break it down into simple and easy steps instead of sugar-coating everything and doing it for them and it also helps me get a better understanding of the topic as well. To combine those things I am playing on a travel team and coaching a little girls parks and rec team this summer because I want the game of softball to continue to grow and become a role model for the younger girls. This sport has made me want to quit and focus on other things, it has seen me in my very worst moments and my best, it has gave me some enemies and some of my best friends, but I have learned so much from it. The love I have for the game is so strong and I want to play it and have it in my life as long as I can. I am also very successful in the classroom. I am not quite in high school yet so I can not give you all the fancy test scores but I have had straight A's throughout middle school except one B in 6th grade math, received the presidential award in 4th and 8th, and a citizenship award in 4th as well. I am also very well behaved in the classroom and considered one of the more "mature" ones.
