Personal Statement
My name is Jamie Burke, and I am currently a Junior at Inola high school. Growing up in a small town isn’t exactly the easiest way to be recognized for anything relating sports. When I was 6 my parents put me in a softball league and that’s where my passion for the game began. At nine years old I joined my first competitive team and from there I’ve strived to be known. The purpose of this statement is to express my desire and passion to pursue softball at the next level. Playing college softball has been a goal of mine since I was younger. Watching the older girls play was so inspiring to me, and now I have become one of those “older girls”, inspiring the younger girls. Softball has provided me with once in a life time opportunities, life long friends, and life lessons. Being an athlete means you have to be tough even if you’re faced with a complex situation, or even just being a leader, a teammate, or even a friend. In college I will push myself with classes and on the field. Softball is more than just a game to me, it’s my passion.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
