Personal Statement
Softball is not an easy sport and is definitely not made for everyone, but this sport is the only sport I can truly say I love. I love the game. I love the ability to compete, the opportunity to be family and work as a team excites me for college ball. I want to be able to go through life saying "Yes, I did that, I completed my life goal”. I yearn to feel a special bond between me and my teammates, just us on the field playing for the name on the front of our jerseys. Competitiveness runs deep through me, I have to be first. Cannot be second because that means you did not give enough to your team. That one play you could have got an out, that one pitch you let slip by that could have been a base hit, or simply cheering the rest of your team on because they may need words of inspiration.
Last is not even an option for me, I will make sure and give all I can for my teammates, never any less. This goal is not an easy goal and I understand that, but I will do what it takes to complete what is necessary. I am doing what I can with the choices I am given with my academics due to going to a 3A school. I take as many Honors or AP classes as I possibly can with my choices. I work hard in my studies and make sure my grades are up and my studies are done first. I am a natural born leader for anything I am doing in life, I hope to bring this to the field in college and have everyone on the same page not only to win but to play as family. Seeing what a difference I make for other girls and fellow teammates who look up to me truly inspires me to help someone else achieve their goal as well. This is a bible verse that helps me on the field, falls right into my perspective for softball, my future, or in everyday life, "So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." - Isaiah 41:10
