Personal Statement
My name is Briea Baley from Klamath Falls, OR. Softball has been the daily love since the age of nine. I decided at that age to commit myself to be the best softball player on and off the field that I can be. Softball has made me more prepared, disciplined, determined as a student, daughter and as an athlete. I strive to work as hard as I can as it relates to my studies, practices, games, and everyday life. I never give up and I am always willing to do whatever it takes to help my teammates.
I am a Senior at 4A Henley High School in Klamath Falls, OR. I came from a very small school in Tulelake, CA and moved to a much bigger school before my 8th grade year. I love walking the halls of my school which is rich in history and tradition when it comes to pride, athletics, and education. I have played and started on the Varsity team since my freshman year. I have played second base during most of the past 3 years. For travel club, I have played second base, right field, center field, and some third base early on. I have been playing travel ball since I was in 10U level. I am a very coachable player with an excellent attitude. My strengths are definitely fielding with range, hitting in clutch situations, and bunting. I was in the top 3 in many statistical categories my sophomore high school year.
I work very hard maintaining my GPA while traveling for softball in either high school or club ball and continuing an additional sport in varsity basketball. I want to find a college/university that is rich in tradition and mentors success. I want to be that person that people look at me and says I'm glad she is on our team and part of our family!
My future aspirations is to be a teacher. My family is rich in education, teaching, and administration of K-12 schools and I see myself providing to others the same opportunity that many provided me. I want to make a difference! Thank you for your time.
