Personal Statement
Ever since I started playing softball, it’s been my goal to play middle infield for a top tier collegiate program. Now I am a senior in high school planning for my future and I am on track to attend a university that fits both my athletic and academic goals. I currently play for the Greek National Team and the Washington Ladyhawks 18G (Gonzalez). Here are some of the characteristics that set me apart from many of my peers:
- - I have been the starting SS, pitcher, and bat leadoff on my high school team since Freshman year. In both my sophomore and junior years, I was honored with 1st Team All-League, as well as voted MVP of my team. This year, I also received my team's Dedication to Excellence award. For my club team, I play MI and utility. We are one of the top teams in the NW and play in the top tournaments around the nation.
- - I was selected to be a member of the Greek National Team (youngest player on the team) and played in Barcelona during the 2022 European Women's Championships. It was an unforgettable experience and a great taste of competition at the next level.
- - I really love this game. In addition to being the first to arrive and the last to leave practices, I also get so much joy working to improve my hitting and infield skills. I'm always throwing in little games and competitions with my teammates, coaches, or dad. I typically tire the other people out...
- - I use my mental game and softball IQ. My ability to adjust no matter the circumstance is one of my most useful skills. I believe softball is a game that demands the mental aspect as much as the physical.
- - On the academic side I currently have a 3.94 unweighted GPA and scored a 32 composite on the ACT where I received a 36 perfect score in reading. I am also in honors math, English, chemistry, and Spanish.
Softball is a central part of my life that I want to continue to enjoy for as long as possible. Whether it is a diving play, an extra-base hit, the camaraderie in the dugout, practicing, or organizing team building activities, I have fun giving it my all. I will never back down from a challenge and always look to lift up my team during practices and games. When the time comes to transition to college, I will be excited to work hard pushing myself and my team. I can’t wait to make the best use of my talents while building friends for life.
