Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Tierra Shope and thank you so much for viewing my profile. I am 17 years old and in a few days I will be senior at Curwensville High School and a member of the St. Timothy Catholic Church. My softball career started in Brownstown Township, Michigan. I started playing softball at age 8, and played t-ball and coach pitch before that. I did not start out wanting to be a pitcher. I just wanted to play softball. On my first ever softball team the coach made everyone learn how to pitch and from there he picked his pitchers, I was one of them and I was hooked. We moved to Curwensville, Pennsylvania when I was in 5th grade. I starting working with my pitching coaches. I played Little League softball in Curwensville for the next 2 years. I played junior high school softball in 7th and 8th grades and became the starting pitcher for the varsity team my freshman year. I pitched every inning of every game since that time. In the summertime I played for Curwensville Chaos, Philipsburg Hurricanes, and Mid State Madness. During the summer I played first base, occasionally the outfield and I got to bat. I attended summer softball camp at California University of Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, there is not a U18 summer softball team in my area, but I will be working out at the field and continuing to work with my pitching coaches until next season. I play varsity basketball and volleyball. I am on the 2013-2014 varsity cheerleading squad, as well as the competition cheerleading squad. I am a student trainer for my high school football team. I plan to attend college for athletic training and play softball. I have worked very hard as a pitcher and I want to continue to play at the college level. My career goal is to be an athletic trainer at a university and travel with the sports teams and helping their athletes. Thank you for taking the time to read about me.
