Personal Statement
Thank you Coach for taking the time to show an interest in me by viewing my profile!
My name is Jess Milliron and I am a junior at West Branch Area High School in Allport, PA. I am currently 5’5” tall and weigh 135 pounds. As a Freshman, I started at the Varsity level as both a left fielder and second baseman with a .308 batting average and earned recognition as The Progress News Athlete of the Week for the week ending May 24th, 2014 and named a 2014 Progress News’ Progressland High School Softball All-Star Honorable Mention (OF). This season I am the starting shortstop for our Lady Warriors Varsity team and this summer I am playing my third season with my travel/club team the Juniata Jaguars starting at both middle infield positions.
It has always been a dream of mine to have the opportunity to play softball at the collegiate level. I am looking for a school that possesses qualities that best fit both my academic and athletic aspirations. I am currently maintaining a 4.0 GPA; however, I am still undecided on the career path I would like to take. I have narrowed my list of majors down to engineering, education, psychology, or physical therapy.
I am blessed with a very supportive family consisting of my parents and younger brother. They have helped me excel in all of my endeavors while encouraging me to be my own person and find success as a direct result of my own hard work, and that type of success is the best kind!
I believe hard work both on and off the softball field is what it takes to reach my goals and my determination is what will help me achieve my dreams.
