Personal Statement
Hello! My name is Devon Maguire, and I graduate high school in 2025. I’ve played travel softball with my local team for 7 years, and played one year with my high school team. I currently play second base for my school team, but as a utility player, I value my versatility to be able to play most positions on the field whenever need be.
My collegiate goals include attending a four-year university and furthering my softball career past high school. I hope to major in a specific field of science, math, or medicine, and minor in Spanish. To me, I value academics just as much as athletics. I currently hold a 4.25 weighted GPA and I love to challenge myself at any chance I get.
Over the years, I’ve come to appreciate what softball has done for me and how it’s helped me grow as a person. This sport has allowed me to strengthen my teamwork and leadership skills, while also teaching me adversity and how to rally a group when faced with difficult odds. Softball has also taught me to work hard and give my best effort every day.
