Personal Statement
I have been playing softball since I was 8 years old, and from the first time I stepped on the field I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. I had always watched college softball and dreamed that one day that would be me on that field just like the older girls I loved to watch. I won't leave failure or dissatisfaction get in the way of my dreams. I will only work harder to make sure I achieve them.
I am currently playing on a Texas Glory travel softball team as a catcher/shortstop/third baseman, batting 5th with a batting average of 463. In the spring I will be playing for Wilmington Area High School starting varsity at shortstop.
I was picked to play on a Nationals All-Star team in Myrtle Beach, during our Nationals tournament this past summer and was invited to be an All American player. I have had several offers to play around different parts of the state and even in the Dominican Republic. I was also chosen to play for the softball factory organization and this November I will be playing on an 18u Softball factory team at the fall classic in Georgia. My primary position being shortstop and secondary position being catcher.
Games are not all about winning or losing for me there is more to it. I am able to look back at my game performances with pride regardless of the outcome and I hold myself accountable. I always have a positive attitude on the field no matter whether we are winning or losing I will still give my best effort. I adapt quickly and focus on mine and the team's goals.
As important as softball is to me school always comes first. I have a GPA of 4.0, I am in multiple clubs, and try to stay active within the school. I am looking for a college with a competitive softball team as well as a college that can meet my educational goals. I want to major in criminal justice or criminology.
