Personal Statement
I started playing softball at the age of 8, dragging my brother out to play catch with me and having my dad help me hit the ball. The first time I rounded the bases it gave me a spark to love the game. From then I have been lucky enough to be a part of 3 All-Star teams for my hometown, St. Marys. We went to states every year, the 2019 season was the season we finally won states and moved on to Eastern Regional. As this season was the farthest we got to go on to, my other 2 seasons with the All-Star team showed me more of the game on how to improve to be able to make it past states and showed that hard work over a long period of time can show off. The families you build with the team, learning how to build each other up, the leadership you earn, and the focus and hard work we all put into each other, and getting help from everyone on the team created the person I am today. It has allowed me to realize to work hard wherever the coaches put you on the field and the role they give you.
My goals for college are massive and I know I have the ability to work hard to get them. The biggest goal I have is to grow and be able to adapt to change, as simple as it sounds it is a hard task for me to do. Being able to accomplish this goal for me would be a life altering goal, as it would help me further in life, my career, and in times of conflict. Another goal I aspire to accomplish is to become an outstanding student but an even better person and help people as much as I possible can.
I am looking for a program that will fit me well athletically, academically, and help me reach my goals. I believe that I have enough talent to compete at the college level but I also have the work-ethic, leadership, and character to make an enormous, positive impact on your program.
