Personal Statement
The softball field is my second home. Having a sister six years older than me who played I can honestly say I was born on the softball field. I have played multiple positions since I was 5 but from the age of 9 my passion has been pitching. I have been on a competitive travel team since I was 10. I helped my team go to Nationals in Delaware in 2010 and this year my team and I will be heading to the World Series in Maryland to compete. On and off the field I am a leader. I try to set the best example by always being a team player. Keeping my team up in the most trying situations is always a priority. One of my best features is when I am on the mound in that circle I am not rattled. I just completed my freshman year as a D1 starting pitcher. I helped my team place 5th in the state, which I take pride in as they previously placed 16th the prior year. I had 73 strikeouts to 21 walks for the entire season and was awarded Honorable Mention by the Rhode Island Interscholastic League. I may not have a 65 mile an hour fastball (yet) but I have 8 pitches with a nasty change up! I am dedicated to improving my skills. I train 4-5 days a week between practice, lessons and sports training. My dream has always been to play softball in college. I am open minded to where I would like to attend college and also undecided as I am getting ready to start my sophomore year. My goals are to academically get smarter, physically stronger and faster and to continue to be a positive influence on my team . Thank You for taking the time to read and view my profile.
