My name is Annaston Hulsey and I'm a shortstop/catcher that can be put any when in the field, and play to my full potential. I am a dedicated Student athlete that works as hard in the classroom asl do on the field. My highschool years playing softball have been quite a struggle. My freshman year I got injured by pulling my groin, and knowing that our season was about to get canceled due to covid I still played our last game to my full effort .Starting shortstop as a Freshman on varsity made me become more aggressive and drove to work harder, so no one could take my spot. Then covid coming along to cancel our whole season changed now I viewed softball completely. Not Playing made me super depressed and in a bad mental state. Softball is my life I can't picture me doing anything else. That's also why I want to continue my career at a Collegiate level. I've decided that want to major in science education that way I can teach, and hopefully coach the school's softball team. I want to help girls learn to love the sport as much as I do, and help them learn the concept of the game. My sophomore year I was also the starting shortstop and I was the number 1 sophomore in the state of TN. My batting average was a .549. As, my sophomore season came to an end our team was told we would have a whole new coaching staff. Taking in this new news I had to work harder knowing the coach is going to have different perspectives on things. As summer rolled along while playing travel ball. I play for Showcase 51 out of Ripley TN. I personally love catching for travel ball because I love having my aggression show and being in charge. When I first started catching it was the Summer of 2020. No one our travel team knew how to actually catch. So, I was like well I nave a good arm and the hustle so why not. I absolutely never knew how much pride it would be to me. Now, school ball i would much rather play shortstop. Simply because no one is really aggressive in school ball like they are in travel, I really think since I'm very aggressive with a good attitude, arm, and potential that would be good for any college team if they would give me a shot.
