Anna Lay '22 Recruiting Profile

I grew up on the ball field and learned the love of the game from my parents, who were both collegiate athletes.  I love everything about the sport, from the strategies of the game to working with your teammates to achieve a common goal.  My favorite aspect is playing a role, making the much-needed hit or play to help my team get the win.  Even though I sometimes find it hard in large groups, it is easy to work with my softball sisters who have my back. I am often found cheering loudly for my team and encouraging them all. I love being between the white lines and want to continue playing softball in college.

I want to pursue a degree in Art Education, so I could work in a high school and coach softball. Outside of the ball field, you can often find me with my drawing journal perfecting my art or reading a book. I am a great student in class and on the field. I love learning new things.  I am often the first one on the field and the last one to leave, either doing drills or helping clean up our home field.  I love softball, so I would work hard and go above and beyond to play the game I love.
