Personal Statement
My desire is to play softball at a competitive level in college while obtaining my degree in occupational therapy. My young niece was born with a chromosome deletion and watching her therapist work with her has inspired me to be an Occupational Therapist, so that I can help children like my niece that have physical/mental disabilities.
I love playing softball, whether I am pitching, playing first or second, in center field, right field, left field or anywhere else that my coach needs me. I am a team leader on the field and off. I try to keep people upbeat, motivated and striving to succeed. I have had coaches complement me on my positive attitude and I have been told that I am very coachable. Several coaches and teachers have said that they wish they had more students like me. Therefore, I feel that I would benefit your team by being a motivator that is willing to listen attentively and strive to achieve the goals that you have for me as a player. I would always give you 100% and play to the best of my ability while acknowledging my errors and working hard to correct them going forward.
I currently play for the Showtime organization, and attend weekly pitching and batting lessons. I practice at school and for 3-4 hours every Sunday that we are not in a tournament. I play tournaments every chance that I get. I have been picked up by other Showtime teams and American Freedom, on occasion when they need help with players for tournaments.
I look forwarding to playing for you in the near future!
