Personal Statement
Softball has permeated all parts of my life. It has laid a framework to help me excel. I try to put softball-related activities in my life every day. At school, I play 3 sports: volleyball, basketball, and softball. I love the friendships that come with being on a team as well as keeping me active and in shape. The most important thing learning sports, and specifically softball, have taught me is that mistakes happen; it is how I/my team address and adapt the learning from them that makes me/us better. I have always been a coachable player, which probably stems from my competitive nature. I listen intently and learn from my coaches, teammates, as well as from watching other players. I believe this trait has really helped me on my journey and will continue to lead me in my pursuit of greater success.
I try my best in academics and to succeed in my classes. I am a sophomore in high school and have earned honors in all semester to date. I have a good rapport with my teachers. Time management is a huge part of my life and I wor hard to balance school, sports, and family/friendships. I want to play softball as long as I can, and recognize that requires balance across many aspects of my life. My aspirations are to play softball in college, at the highest level my talent and hard work allows. I have been able to attend a number of college-level games, including the 2019 & 2021 World Series. I love watching the teams compete, whether in person or on television and seeing the effort those players make to achieve results. It is my dream to be one of those girls, play on a college team, and represent the sport as a role model for others who have similar dreams. I will work hard to achieve my goals and put the effort in every day.
