Mariel Peña-Sanchez '19 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to continue playing and improving in the sport that I live and breathe.  I have been playing softball for over eleven years and could not think of any other sport I would rather play .  Softball has not only taught me to work hard and have better dedication but to also have fun and enjoy the people around me.  One of the best lessons I have learned is to never give up.  Another important lesson I have learned is how to be a leader and set an example for those around me.  Something I enjoy is encouraging the team to give their best through-out the entire game and keeping their spirits high, whether we win or lose.  Keeping faith and putting in the extra work both are what have helped me in becoming a better student-athlete, and in the process have helped me achieve more in life, both on and off the field.
