I have been playing softball since I was 5 years old. I absolutely fell in love with the sport. One of my goals is to continue my love for this sport in college. This has been my dream and what has also been my dream is to be a starter on my high school's varsity softball team. This year was the year I accomplished that goal. Out of my whole 9 years of softball I have always played 1st base. This year as a freshman I started 3rd base which is a position I never played. It took me a while to get down the throw to first and the quick feet to stop the balls that came to 3rd. With hard work and dedication and being a coachable athlete I feel I picked up that position well but I also know that I need to work on it to get better. Every game I started as a 3rd baseman. No matter if I get to play softball in college or not I do want to go to college.
While softball is my passion, my education has a huge roll in my college decision, so finding the school that fits me best not just athletically but academically is essential.
I would like to be a a person who leads by giving good examples in school and on the field, and also putting in hours of work to make myself better. I'm a person who comes to a situation with a positive and uplifting attitude, I never feel defeated when a situation comes my way. Also I am a coachable athlete who can pick things up real well and real quick.
School is extremely important to me, so I try my hardest in every class that I am in to maintain my 3.8GPA. I also participate in Band, FFA and I was elected secretary for my class. I am also working on becoming a member of the National Honors Society.
If I get the chance to play the sport I love while getting an education in college, I promise it is one that I will put all my heart and strength to do my best to succeed in both.
