Personal Statement
I am a versatile softball athlete from Wichita Falls, TX. I began playing softball at 2-years-old, developing a love for all aspects of the game. Over the course of 14 years of play, I have defended the field as 2nd Baseman, Short Stop, all Outfield, and Pitcher. I have invested 10 years into pitching technique.
I maintain a +3.6 GPA, serve my school on Student Council, and joined the varsity softball team my Freshman year. Though the program is specifically for Juniors and Seniors, one of our teammates was injured so I've been asked, as a Sophomore, to participate in her place and learned how to slap. One of my favorite things to do is volunteer for the Special Olympics. I enjoy helping them build friendships with other players and experience success in competition.
I am looking for an institution where I can both focus my studies in education, and continue to compete on the softball field. I am an overcomer of a speech deficiency which impacts my studies of language. Still, I have maintained high grades through hard work, patience, and utilizing the assistance provided by tutors and school programs. I am not afraid of asking for guidance, on or off the field, and I take that guidance seriously. I strive to be teachable, so I can be the best at whatever I commit myself to. I want coaches who want to push me to become a better player. It is my dream to play softball in the World Series and on a National team.
