Jessica Underwood '19 Recruiting Profile

I dream of playing softball at the collegiate level. Ever since I was a young girl, I have found hobbies that I was interested in for short periods of time and then dropped them. Then, I found softball. As an intellectually gifted student, I have always taken ultra-rigorous coursework and academic programs, so playing softball gave me an outlet which I could enjoy. I have built my playing skills over the years as well my leadership skill.  I have been team captain on my travel team for 3 years and I love setting a positive example for my fellow teammates. I am different from other athletes because I believe in competition. This means that I would rather play an extremely difficult/competitive game and get better, than play a team of a much lower caliber and walk away with nothing learned.
