Personal Statement
Being a part of the first team in school history to win the Region D 5A championship and also finishing second in the state has been the highlight of my high school softball career so far. However, I am even more excited for the new year and making it back to the state finals. Going from a losing season to state runner-ups taught me about hard work, setting goals and perseverance.
I started playing softball when I was eight years old and have been in love ever since. Through softball I have learned that I have a very competitive nature and that I am willing to do whatever it takes to make myself and my team better.
Since I started playing, my family has moved three times and I have had to overcome meeting new coaches, trying out for several teams, fitting in and once I started high school had to compete with a senior for the starting center-fielder position. My freshman year I was the starting left-fielder but finally gained my center-fielder spot as a sophomore and I will not relinquish it.
My goals academically include finishing high school with at minimum a 3.5 GPA and an SAT score of 1200. With the success of these goals, I will be able to get accepted into one of the best colleges and fulfill my dream of being a veterinarian.
Some unique characteristics about myself are that I try not to take myself or others too seriously. I like to laugh, have fun and at times be the class clown. However, once I step foot on the field, I become more serious and have high expectations for myself and my teammates
