Personal Statement
My name is Sara Bostic and I play for the VA Fury Platinum 16u softball fastpitch team. I’m a pitcher and play second base when I am not on the mound. I’m currently ranked the #105 pitcher by Extra Innings SB for the 2024 class.
I’ve been in love with softball since I was 6 years old hitting whiffle balls in the yard not knowing that softball was a sport. I grew up learning the fundamentals in house league and have been playing travel softball for three years now and pitching at the A elite team level.
My first travel year I was the starting and closing pitcher. I was put in the most challenging game situations which gave me priceless pressure experience that can only be taught in game situations. These physical and mental pressure innings that I faced in my early softball years helped make me the competitive person that I am today. The competitiveness learned in softball has translated throughout the rest of my life in whatever I do. This competitiveness along with the last 4 years of travel softball led to my selection as a Select 30 All American pitcher for the class of 2024. The award was both exciting and humbling for me as I reflect on my softball journey.
As a 11th grader for Trinity Christian School in Fairfax, Va., my goal is to play competitive softball at the college level. Through softball, I’ve learned that there is always someone working harder, getting stronger, faster, better. If I want to be the best I have to work hard and continue to work hard!
I am interested in learning about your softball program and sharing more about my passions as a potential competitor for your team.
