Personal Statement
I have always wanted to be physically active and had interests in anything sports related. As I grew older, I tried many different sports such as basketball, soccer, and of course softball. Playing these sports really worked out for me because basketball was in the winter, soccer was in the fall and softball was in the spring. I got to try everything. Since I was at such a young age playing three sports was a lot to tackle, and I knew that I had to choose one. I chose softball because it’s more than just being physically active. Softball isn't running up and down a field for two hours playing with a ball, it requires a lot of thought. In order to play competitive softball, you really have to know how to play the game mind wise. I love the game because I like having to think about multiple things, such as if the ball gets hit to me then I have to do this. But if this happens, then I need to do that.
I feel I would be a good asset to any college program because I am a team player. Whenever one of my teammates makes a mistake, I try my hardest to lift them up. When I make a mistake, I own up to it and try not to make it the next time. I’m a great communicator on the field. Another reason why I am a good asset to the team is because I am a coachable player. When a coach gives me feedback, I turn it into results. My favorite thing to do is to work on my skills on my own time, I love being able to fix my own mechanics with or without a coach. I would also be a good asset because I make sure that I follow the guidelines. If my coach says that we have practice at 6:30 and he wants us to be there at 6:15 I will make sure to be there at 6:05 so that I can be prepared for a good practice. I enjoy conditioning in the off season.
I want to find a good competitive team that has a coach to push me to my limits. I love to put in work to make me the best player I can be. I want a team that is 110% when they are on the field, just like me. I also want a school that has good academics as well, I want to study Mechanical Engineering. I want to find a school with a good academic program and a competitive softball program so it can be the right fit for me.
