Personal Statement
Though I did not start at an early age, I have learned the importance of patience, dedication, responsibility, and teamwork from softball. I started when I was 9 years old due to a car accident that killed my best friend. He loved baseball and gave me the confidence to try new things. He taught me how to step outside of my comfort zone and see things with a different perspective. I do not only play for my team, I play for him as well.
Though I am not a natural athlete, I am very motivated and have a great work ethic. I have learned how to be a leader and how to influence others by leading by example. I do not just want to lead on the field, but off of the field as well. I have a 4.0 GPA and wish to major in marine biology. It is my goal to earn my doctorate degree so I can further research sharks and other marine life. I believe that I can be a great fit for college teams because I am very coachable and understand the importance of teamwork and responsibility.
