I'm Emily Martinez, I'm 5'7 and a dedicated student athlete with a GPA of 3.3. My primary position for my select team, Acers 18U Gold is short stop and outfield. On my high school team, I've been the starting shortstop on the Varsity team since my freshman year, and will play catcher when needed. My energy level on the field and in the dugout are very important to me in a game and can make all the difference to my surrounding team mates. I work hard during practices always striving to become the best I can be and making adjustments when needed to better myself as a person and player. I want to make an impact on my team, always striving to do my best offensively and defensively and giving everything I have to my team and love of the sport. Softball has changed my life in so many positive ways, for example this game has taught me what being a part of a team is about, commitment and trust in my team mates. Every one needs to trust each other, and work together because that is what a team is all about. I enjoy being able to be part of a team that not only has fun, but is competitive as well. I'm driven to play collegiate softball because not only do I love the game, but I would have an opportunity to get a good education for my journey in life. I strive to work hard in the class room and being a good student. I am focused on getting a good education to build a strong foundation for my future; it is essential to me.
