Personal Statement
My name is Kaitlyn Webster and I aspire to play college softball at a college that challenges me academically and athletically. I am currently going into my senior year at Meadowdale High School in Lynnwood, Washington. I have lettered for the past 3 years. Our team has gone to the State tournament the past 3 years, placing 3rd in 2013 and 2015. For the last 2 years I was a starting outfielder and a first team all league selection as a sophomore and junior. I have played club softball with the Washington Blaze Dynamite for the past 5 years, playing outfield and middle infield. I have been the leadoff, #3 or #5 hitter with the Blaze. This year I was voted one of the team captains.
I have challenged myself academically in the classroom by taking honors, and advanced placement courses in math, English and science. I currently have a 3.967 GPA and am interested in majoring in a field related to health sciences. I am a Link Coordinator at our school (a mentoring and student orientation program), a National Honor Society member and a member of the varsity volleyball team. Our volleyball team won the 2014 academic state title with a 3.86 team GPA.
I work hard to improve my game and love to compete. I consider myself a well rounded player who can contribute to a team in several ways - hitting, base running, defense and leadership.
