Personal Statement
Hi my name is Sydney Abrahamson-Fernandez; I am a Junior at Lakeside High School in Nine Mile Falls, WA. I have been playing softball since I was in Kindergarten. That is when I fell in love with the game and I knew I wanted to play for as long as I could. My goals are to work my way to play at whatever collegiate level possible and to study business or political science. In regards to being different from other recruits in character I believe that my my bold aura allows me to step up and be a leader whenever and wherever necessary to support the team. I have been told by coaches and teammates that I am willing and ready to take on any challenge that will help the betterment of the team, whether it's playing a position, batting in the lineup, or being in the dugout. In my athletic abilities, I am always willing to learn, grow, and better myself because there will always be room for improvement. No matter the intensity of the critique or how many times technique gets altered, I strive to do it with a smile and a can-do attitude to push myself to grow as a player and a person. I will give every workout, practice, and position my all. I will own up to and claim responsibility for my mistakes, ask for help on how to adjust for the growth of myself and the goal of the overall team. Academically I push myself by taking AP courses and working to educate myself outside of school on topics regarding the world currently to push and expand my realm of knowledge. I am working hard in the classroom, pushing myself so I can get far academically to get opportunities to play at the highest level possible.
