Personal Statement
My name is Isabel Quintanilla, I’m a 5’0’’ outfielder/utility player and I graduate with the class of 2023. I’ve always wanted to play softball at the highest level because when I watch them play they are doing what they love and having fun as well and that’s what I want to do. I also want to show that my size has nothing to do with athletic ability to compete with other amazing players. Softball is an important part of my life because it showed me that if you have perseverance, determination, and have a good mindset you will be able to accomplish all your goals. Softball has also taught me how to overcome the obstacles in front me and to keep my head up even during failure. Other than softball I maintain an average GPA of 3.8-4.0 including several honor classes and AP classes. In school, I also participate in National Honor Society and Leadership club.
When it comes to softball I’d like to think I have a lot to offer from being a hard worker, passionate about the game, and to being a good teammate. During a game, I will be the loudest person in the dugout and on the field. As a person, I’m very coachable and open to advice given to me. As an athlete, I’m competitive and believe that I must earn my spot. I think that the hard work you put in will show when you step on the field. When playing I make sure that mind is in the right place because that sets the tune for me. My goals are to play at the highest level for softball, and to find a school that benefits for both my education and my sport. For school, I’m open to any locations.
