Personal Statement
Softball has taught me so much about myself and life lessons. I've learned how to sacrifice and compromise, putting others (the team) before yourself. I have learned how to win, how to lose. I have learned how to set goals and work towards those goals with unwavering determination. I have learned to play through obstacles both physical and mental and to never give up. I've learned how to communicate, trust in others and work with others towards a common goal. All these life lessons I owe to the sport of softball.
I want to continue playing the sport that I love in college and that has taught me so much. I want to play on a team that will be a good fit for me athletically and that will help me to continually grow as a player. I want to be part of a team that I can call home and be at a college that can serve me academically. I believe that I can contribute to the success of a team with the softball skills I have as a pitcher, 1st baseman or 3rd baseman. I have worked at this game since I was 5 years old and will continue to do so to be the best player I can be. I think that with my skills set that I could contribute to the success of any team given the opportunity.
