Personal Statement
Competing in the WIAA State Tournament my sophomore year was definitely the most exciting event in my softball career, however the journey to get there was not easy. Although we had a lot of potential to go to State my freshman year, we lost in the semi-sectional final due to some doubt and poor attitude. I was determined to turn our attitude and work-ethic around in order to reach our goals for next season. With dedication, communication, and focus, I did everything I could to help my team be successful and compete at the highest level we were capable of, and we reached our goal of competing in Madison. This coming year, I have been selected as a team captain, and I cannot wait to lead my teammates and work towards another successful season. Not only did this experience build my character as an athlete, but it has helped me grow as a student. I approach all of my courses with commitment and hard work that I put into studying, and I choose classes that will challenge me. My high school softball experience has helped me grow as a leader and focus on competing at the next level as a college athlete.
Although I’ve always been a multi-sport athlete, softball has remained my favorite sport to play. I’ve had a love for sports ever since I was young, growing up playing catch with my dad and older brother. My dad has taught me many of the life lessons and skills that I have now, and my family overall is very important to me. They have always supported my love for softball. With the character, leadership, and values I’ve acquired as an athlete, I believe I will contribute to and positively impact any team I become a part of, and I am ready to play softball at the college level!
