Personal Statement
Without a doubt, softball is my passion. I started playing softball when I was 9 and haven't stopped since. My older sister played softball and watching her as I grew up made me want to play the sport even more. I'm now 16 and am playing my 8th year of club softball. Last year as a freshman I reached one of many goals and made Varsity.
One of the important skills that softball has taught me is time management. I have learned to not only train hard and perform on the field, but to also maintain my GPA while doing so. I am grateful for what this sport has taught me and love to apply the skills I have learned on the field to my everyday life.I also love to give back to the softball community. I volunteer and help the younger girls in my community by giving pitching lessons and helping out coaches at their practices.
I am a good student and take my education very seriously. My goals are to continue my softball career along with my educational career. I hope to find a college that not only challenges me on the field, but also in the classroom. I know I want to major in Engineering, but I have not yet decided whether I want to major in Chemical or Petroleum Engineering. As a student I am on High Honors and take AP classes.
In July of 2017, I had the opportunity to travel out of the country to play the sport I love. I traveled to Germany, Austria, and The Czech Republic and played different teams in each country. I am blessed to have been apart of this experience and have a former Olympian, Leah O'Brien Amico be my coach. Not only was this a great experience but I was able to meet girls from around the US and create friendships that will last a lifetime.
