Hello, my name is Izabella Pacheco. I’m a senior in high school, graduating in May of 2023. Starting at the age of five, I was introduced to many sports because my parents wanted me to explore and be well-rounded. However, at the age of eight, softball was the first sport that I truly connected with and chose to pursue. What drew me to the game was getting to work with a team, which allowed me to form strong bonds and grow my interpersonal skills. Softball provides a natural outlet for my extroverted personality, which helps me adapt quickly to new people and environments. Through the wins and losses that have come with softball, I've developed coachability, perseverance, the ability to maintain a positive attitude and self-confidence. I’ve also learned the important role effort plays in pushing through adversity; for example, when my team climbed all the way through the losers’ bracket to take second in the Wyoming State Tournament.
Looking to the future, I intend to pursue my undergraduate degree in physiology with a minor in psychology. My goal is to become a physical therapist. So, in high school, I’m preparing by taking relevant courses such as biology 1010, chemistry, college algebra, psychology, and emergency medical response. I look forward to the new challenges and experiences that softball will continue to bring throughout this journey.
