Personal Statement
I am the oldest child of my family, I have always tried to be the strong and positive example for my sisters and brothers. At the age of 13 I lost my father, it was the start of my 8th grade season. My dad and my mom both had a big impact on my perspective of the game, it is because of them I fell in love with the game. My dad would take me to the gym everyday from the time I was able to walk. Both my parents played basketball beyond high school and my dream my goal is to do the same but take it a step further. Since the death of my father I set a goal to play college basketball and get a college degree, this is a promise I made and a promise I plan to work as hard as possible to keep.
My parents have always told me "the only person standing in the way of you and your goals is yourself" when I was younger I didn't understand that but as I got older I started to really understand what they were telling me. I always set a goal and push myself to get there, and when I think I'm too exhausted too down or too broken to make it I push a little more and a little more. I am dependable, responsible, and hard working, In the classroom and on the court.
