My name is Melissa Soto and I am writing to whom this reaches because of my interest in playing college basketball. I am an incoming senior, attending Chino Valley High School in Chino Valley, AZ. My primary position is point guard, while my secondary is shooting guard. Ever since my journey started in grade six, I aspired to play at the collegiate level, regardless of division. I love the game I play and desire to give my all towards it. Starting my high school career, I was given the opportunity to play on the starting lineup, and have continued to do so throughout my four years of high school. I’ve earned the title of MVP and all conference honors. I have led my conference in three pointers, assists, and steals. On the academic side, I am looking to pursue my aspirations of being a physical therapist.
The game of basketball has taught me leadership skills that are applicable to life; teamwork, communication, and determination has helped me in every aspect in my life so far. For every team I have played on, I have proved that I am a team player, putting my teammates before myself at times, and that I give my all in practices and games. I push myself in practice in order to become the best version of myself. Academically, like stated before, I strive to obtain new information and to be pushed to the limits. I have been in honors courses since sixth grade, and continued that throughout my high school experience. I am currently in the honors program, National Honors Society, and Student Athlete Leadership Team. I have completed three college courses, and have obtained my CPR Certification and EMR Certification through one of those courses. Currently, I have completed three college courses, looking to enroll in several more, and right now hold a 3.88 GPA.
Thank you for your consideration.
