Personal Statement
My goal is to attend a four year university and play competitive college basketball.
The two things we have absolute control over are attitude and effort. I have learned that bringing a great attitude and a great effort to my actions will ultimately result in improved performance. I have taken these lessons and applied them to my academics and my athletics. I have seen success in both arenas:
- I was identified as a "GATE" student In the 3rd grade which has allowed me to study a lot of interesting topics:
- The Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) program supports unique opportunities for high-achieving and underachieving pupils who are identified as gifted and talented. By state definition, gifted students are pupils who possess a capacity for excellence far beyond that of their chronological peers.
- Academic achievements:
- Graduated 8th grade with a 4.0
- Achieved a 4.0 in accelerated courses at Aptos High School as a Freshman
- Athletics:
- 5 years of AAU Basketball
- 3 years competitive Soccer
- 4 years softball
- 2 years track
- Athletic achievements:
- Starting point Guard at Aptos High School as a Freshman
- Selected All-league as a Freshman
- Two time All-Tournament selection as a Freshman
- Led all Freshman in California in 3 pointers Made (72)
- Selected "Max Preps" player of the year as Freshman
- Ran Varsity track as a Freshman
- Selected two time All-Star and MVP at Tara Vanderveer's Stanford camp
- Selected for All-Star showcase by PassThaBall
