NaShauni Ponton '11 Recruiting Profile

I am NaShauni Ponton, a senior at Narbonne High School, and I greatly aspire to play at the collegiate levele. I have been playing basketball since I was 12 and have played on two club teams: Fundamental Hoops and Cal Sparks. I stand at 5'6, 140 lbs, and i run 3.6 40 yard dash. I attended California Academy of Math and Science from 2007 to 2010, and all three years I have been captain. I feel that hard work, team work, composure, concentration, and confidence makes a successful player and I have aquired all of those skills and incorporate them into my game everytime I step on the floor. I feel that I can bring leadership, hardwork, and determination to any team I am on. In my high school basketball career, I have received 2nd team All League, 9th and 10th grade, and in the 11th grade, I made 1st team All-League and won MVP amongst my team. In my Junior season, I was ranked #1 in scoring, #1 in 3FG's, #3 in assists, #3 in FT, and #2 in Charges taken. I am currently ranked #6 in California and #26 in the nation for 3 point shooting. I would like to atttend a school that challenges me equally in the classroom and on the court. I currently have a 3.5 GPA and academics has always been important in my life. I aspire to become a Pediatrician or Physical Therapist. My intended major is Biology or Physical Therapy. I am open to any school that offers a rigorous curriculum, great basketball program, diversity, and a beautiful campus.
