Marissa Leighton '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Marissa Leighton I am currently a Senior at Fall River Junior Senior High school. I have played basketball, softball, and volleyball in high school and basketball and softball since I was in 4th grade. Basketball is my passion it has taught me so much. I believe I would benefit any team because of my attitude and my connection with any teammate that gets on the floor.  My urge to help others succeed on and off the court sets me apart from others. I definitely believe basketball fully takes strength mentally, and physically. Though being a 5'7 small forward  has its set backs my vertical jump of 24’ helps me compete and succeed very highly with girls twice my size.  Having both an inside and outside shot helps me greatly when posts are guarding me. Though sports are my passion, school always comes first my academics have always been very important to me which has led me to having a 3.7 or higher GPA all through high school.  I would like to go to college and work towards getting my degree in Forensic science. Playing sports would definitely be a great bonus to my goals.
