Makenna Overholt '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi 👋.  Playing soccer at a four year University all four years at the same school is my goal! I would love to be apart of a school that has a lot of school spirit, pride and community. Where students come out to cheer on their classmates. I’ve been an athlete my whole life.  One thing I think that makes me different is as a freshman in high school I was a starter in 3 varsity sports all of which occurred in one season due to Covid.  I attended all games and was recognized in each one with high performing stats.
I am an extreme competitor and eager to win every close and important game. I have shown to have key role in important wins to clinch championships. Since I grew up playing under pressure, in nail bitting situations, I often rise up to the occasion when my team has to battle one out. I know what it takes to come out ahead. On my club soocer teams and all-star softball teams I served as team capitain.  I am assertive and outgoing. I attend a private college prep christian high school. My freshman year when our surronding public school's were still 100% distance learning, my school was in person and we were held to strict standards of attendance and academics. In 8th grade, right before the pandemic, I  was selected as the student to represent my school at the tomb of the unknown solider in Washington DC.  I was also apart of the yearbook as a journalist and our high school yearbook received a nationwide award. I am taking honors and AP courses. I am member of California Scholarship Federation. I volunteer for different  sports camps and church camps. I am a coach at Redlands Gymnastics Club. I had to learn resiliency at a young age as my mom experience many health issues and relied on me for assistance.
