Personal Statement
I have a sincere passion for basketball. I started playing in 5th grade recreationally and over the years it became my life, and I love it! I love the team spirit that it fosters. Basketball has taught me discipline, dedication, selflessness, and has given me so many valuable connections! I'm very fortunate to have this sport in my life. Academics is very important to me as well. My GPA is close to 4.0. I am a perfectionist, who works very hard and always strives for improvement. I would like to continue playing in college and am seeking a good balance between high education and competitive athletics.
I am a 6'1" Power Forward/Post. My height, length, athleticism, and versatility allow me to do a bit of everything on both ends of the floor. I always have an aggressive mindset, which leads me to score offensively and make defensive stops every time I am on the floor. Offensively, I can score in variety of ways. I have the ability to play low post as well as taking my defender off my dribble that will help benefit team to space the floor. I am an active slasher who knows how to relocate to put myself in scoring position, and I'm unselfish with the ball.
Defensively, my height and length enable me to guard multiple positions, switch on screens, and pick up the ball in transition. One of my strengths is rebounding on both ends of the floor.
It has been a goal of mine to continue my basketball journey on a college level. I am highly disciplined, very competitive, and value guidance from coaches. I believe in personal ethics and accountability for the team. I've played on the East and now on the West coast during my basketball career. Therefore, I'm used to different playing and coaching styles, and I have proven to be a successful basketball player everywhere I go.
