I am Katelyn Glumace, an early graduating Junior from Villa Park High School (VPHS) in Villa Park, CA. Over the course of my high school journey, I've committed myself to the sport of basketball, having recently completed my third and final year playing at VPHS and my second year with OC Rhythm (Club team). Additionally, I've rounded off my first season playing JV Softball at VPHS.
Academically, I bring a unique perspective as a fluent Mandarin speaker, a skill cultivated through a Chinese language immersion program within the Orange Unified School District from the first grade through high school. In addition to this, I've pushed my academic boundaries further by successfully completing dual enrollment courses at a community college while enrolled in high school and graduating early.
Basketball caught my interest in middle school and has since grown into a lifelong passion. My organized basketball journey began as a high school freshman, following my baseball career which I pursued until I was 13. I have honed my skills as a center/post for both my high school and club teams under the guidance of accomplished private and club coaches, enhancing my understanding of the game in the process.
As I'm still contemplating on my college major, my commitment to continuing my basketball journey in parallel with my academic career remains unwavering. Basketball has been a great teacher, inculcating values of hard work, teamwork, leadership, and resilience in me, and I aspire to carry these lessons with me into college and beyond.
Thank you for investing your time in learning about me. I'm open to any questions or opportunities you might have for me. I look forward to potentially meeting and discussing how my contributions could be of value to your program.
