I grew up in a very small town three hours away from Denver. Growing up with fewer resources to continue growing and improving in the game I love my family and I decided to explore options in Denver. During that time we found a club team where I just started as a practice player. Still only being a practice player both my family and I decided it was worth the many sacrifices and challenges that would have to be encountered to be able to fully throw myself into the wonderful opportunity I was presented. I have worked tirelessly since to be where I am today in not only basketball, but life. I decided with my family’s help to move to Denver before freshman year to be able to play at one of the top high school basketball programs in Colorado. I moved in with family members but was still separated and lived in my own little apartment on the grounds. I was responsible for the time management of my life and my school and sports responsibilities. I had to step up in so many ways at such a young age and this has contributed to my becoming an independent, responsible, reliable young woman. I have had to overcome many obstacles and make many sacrifices along the way including asking my parents and family to do the same on this journey to my place in life now. I am so grateful for every opportunity that has been presented to me and am thankful for all the life lessons and experiences I have received in the process.
