Personal Statement
I still remember how exciting the first time was when I hit the game winning shot in my first basketball league as a 3rd grader. It was this pivotal moment when I realized my love for the game. At the age of 13, I started competing at a higher level of competition, when my AAU coach gave me the opportunity to play in the national U16 division. Competing against older, stronger, and more experienced players helped me grow in all elements of the game and develop me into the player I am today. My experiences on and off the court have contributed to the person I am today. I strive to find ways to improve in order to perfect all elements of the game. I am confident that I am capable of being a solid guard at the collegiate level.
After graduating high school, my goal is to find a college that provides me the opportunity for a quality education that sets me up for life career goals. Some of my greatest strengths, as supported by my coaches, teachers, parents, and teammates, are my determination to succeed, respect for my coaches, educators, and teammates, undying work ethic, competitive spirit, strong leadership attributes, and embracing new challenges. On the court, I believe these attributes will help me be a dynamic player and positive influence on the team. Although my parents have a strong athletic background, my hope is to make my parents proud as the first person to have aspirations to play a sport at the collegiate level in the history of my family.
