Personal Statement

Hello! I am Sydney Hughes, I am currently enrolled in Meeker High School. Being a Junior, basketball is a large part of my life. This fall our volleyball team made it to state, and lost to the state champion in the second round. Shortly after, in the spring I started my varsity basketball team, and led the team in points, steals, and charges.  Our team received 3rd place at the State Tournament. Following the season, I also received the sportsmanship award for 2014, as well as making it on the 2nd All State team .

Living in Meeker with a small population, and an even smaller 2a school, I understand how hard it is to be recognized and recruited at the colligant level. Fortunately through technology and preparation, in and outside of the gym, I am fully confident that being a participant in college sports is a very realistic goal.
