Personal Statement
My goals are to first and foremost to reach my highest possible academic achievement in order to start myself on a path to a successful and rewarding career in the medical field. My ideal would be a school where I could combine high academics with a high-level basketball program.
I think I offer a unique combination of attributes that will enhance my chosen school and their women's basketball program.
I can provide- consistent steady leadership as I have been called on and have been able to lead my High School team since my sophomore year. I led my team in scoring, rebounding, steals, and blocks during both my Sophomore and Junior years. I am also very consistent -leading my team in scoring in 25 out of 26 games this year.
I feel and have been told that I have an excellent "Basketball IQ". My dad who played and has coached me since 3rd grade has emphasized the strategic aspects of the game for years and as my team's point guard, I attempt to be the 'coach on the floor' for my team when required.
I am very focused as I must consistently balance a very rigid Academic load with multiple sports and a number of extracurricular activities.
Academically I have obtained all A's all 3 years with one exception. I have done this while carrying a very high number of AP and Honors classes.
Finally, I feel I am a high character person. Throughout all aspects of my life, I try to carry myself with poise and I feel that I perform very well under pressure. During our recent games in the state tournament, I scored 21, 21, 22 and 19 in 4 games.
I am very excited to begin exploring what opportunities might be available to me and in beginning conversations with coaches.
