Personal Statement
Growing up, basketball was always my get away when I was upset or angry. When I moved up and started with my varsity team in the seventh grade in the sweet sixteen, I knew I wanted to pursue a career after high school with basketball. It took a turn on me when we didn’t make it that next year, and something told me I needed to get my team there again. Being point guard and because of my character I was always told to be a leader and that’s what I had done. Where they were weak, I picked up the 80/20 for the win.
I learned to value my team and capabilities. I learned to work with my teammates, keep the work-ethics, sacrific (even if it meant friendships), and I had to learn how to lead rather than fall behind what others had done. Basketball matured me for the better. I know that if I do my part as our point guard, everything else will fall into place. I am hoping to find a college with coaches and teammates as passionate as I am and are willing to have me apart of their program. My skills and talents are not the only thing I can offer to a college team. I have great leaderships skills and an open personality, therefore I am willing to do anything for my coaches and/or teammates. I know for sure, I have what it takes to be apart of your program and be a great leader.
