Personal Statement
I have been playing basketball since second grade. As the years have passed, I find myself aspiring to better myself and have a goal to be the best I can be as an athlete, student, and overall individual. Basketball has taught me discipline, teamwork, dedication, sacrifice, and has molded me into who I am today. I am a 5’5”point guard with great speed, a high basketball IQ, strong ball handling skills, mental toughness, and strong physical defense. I work hard to lead by example and encourage my teammates. I am coachable and enjoy helping my teammates to better themselves. I strive to be one of the hardest working players and one of the hardest working recruits you will find.
On and off the court/season, I always continue on working on my skills and strive to keep learning. I have been participating in travel basketball for the past five years as well as always taking up an opportunity for private training and tournaments. While keeping busy most of the time, my academic performance has also been a priority in my life, earning me honor roll my entire sophomore year and maintaining an above 3.5 gpa.
I aspire to find a program that will embrace my athletic and academic skills and will provide me with the opportunity for continued growth and learning. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. I hope to become a great role model to all my peers, in my community, and make my parents proud.
